History - Medmenham, England

During the Second World Wart, millions of aerial reconnaissance pictures were interpreted in the Allied Central Interpretation Unit or better known as "ACIU" in Medmenham, Great-Britain

Aerial reconnaissance was very important for the Allies. Only a few hours after the reconnaissance aircraft had returned, the imagery was already developed, printed and evaluated.

Allied aerial photographs served either for finding targets or evaluation after a bombardment.
