On March 16, a press conference was held at the central memorial for the victims of the “REIMAHG”, in the Leubengrund Valley. Here the district councillor of the SHK Andreas Heller, Markus Gleichmann from the “Geschichts- und Forschungsverein Walpersberg”/Großeutersdorf , and Patrick Brion from our association “Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Walpersberg”/Kahla the press representatives. Their intention was to present the upcoming official, due to the current Corona situation, virtual commemoration. For the first time a joint project, Markus and Patrick want to prepare, design and publish this extraordinary virtual commemoration and put it online on 13 April 2021 on a specially set up website (www.remember-online.org).
The special aspect about the website is that in addition to the official laying of wreaths, it also presents greetings and messages from all over Europe. For this, Marcus and Patrick as well as our association invited families, relatives, associations, schools, mayors and authorities to make a small contribution. Our association and its members, founded in 2003, jointly support this project and would like to send an official and thus visible signal in order to achieve a possible common path for future projects.
