In preparation for a guided tour we were yesterday, Tuesday, with a 3-hour lecture on the history of the former armament plant “REIMAHG” in the Montessori Schule Jena. As part of various project work, a team of students had selected the history of the “REIMAHG” with a special focus on forced labor and contacted us about it.
Today, in addition to our presentation, an extraordinary leadership took place for all involved.
At 9.30 a.m. we met with the group of students who had arrived on their bicycles at Walpersberg. The historical excursion over and around the Walpersberg took place partly on foot, partly by bicycle. Despite the persistent rain, the students were admirably committed and inquisitive. At the end of the excursion, everyone thanked them for the eventful day. They will process their impressions, photos and insights in a presentation and present them to the school by Friday. Definitely wet and certainly tired, they all arrived safely in Jena, as we were told.
