Our association also took part in this year’s 21st District Heritage Day in the village community centre of Rentendorf. After a relaxed car ride through the picturesque valley villages, the festive programme began punctually at 10:00 a.m. in the fully filled hall with a welcome by Heiko Willsch, mayor of the host municipality of Renthendorf, as well as short speeches by Johann Waschnewski, District Administrator of the Saale-Holzland district and Hans-Jürgen Haase, district heritage curator of the Saale-Holzland district.
This was followed by the ceremony for the presentation of the District Heritage Prize for outstanding achievements in the field of local history and local history, awarded by the Saale-Holzland district together with the Sparkasse Jena-Saale-Holzland.
We were very surprised when Patrick was also asked to come forward to receive an award. First, there was a report on his work, which is why the jury awarded him this prize. Patrick was very impressed and gave a short speech after the award was presented. Among the guests were many acquaintances who congratulated Patrick and talked to us for a long time.
All of us from the club would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them on the well-deserved prize!
