A long-time friend had contacted us because he had something special for our exhibition. We were very surprised when he handed us a very well preserved rib bucket. The story is just as unique as the play itself. After the end of the war and before the invasion of the US Army, regionally resident inhabitants in the REIMAHG had provided themselves with many useful things. A man from Jena took a large number of dural sheet metal parts with him, which belonged to the cockpit of the Me 262. On small triangular sheets, the engravings for the switching process are still visible.
He professionally made 30cm high potato buckets from the parts, which he exchanged for food in the villages. Such a bucket has survived undamaged in an attic to this day and will soon be on display in our exhibition at the Kahla City Museum.
